Pass Plus
Do you want to be a better driver and potentially
save hundreds of £££s on your car insurance
premiums?
Pass Plus is the way!
Pass Plus is a voluntary scheme
whereby you take a minimum of 6 hours further training with your
Driving Instructor after passing your L test.
 |
There are 6 modules to cover.
These are:
- Town Driving
- All Weather Driving
- Out of Town Driving and Rural Roads
- Night Driving
- Dual Carriageway Driving
- Motorway Driving.
The good news is that there is no further test to take,
you have 12 months in which to get this done and it only
takes one day! |
"How do we cover Dual Carriageways
and Motorways when we live in sleepy Lincolnshire?"
Each Driving Instructor tends to create their own
route to drive in order to cover the syllabus. To cover the subject
of Motorways from this part of the country it is fairly inevitable
that the M1 or the A1(M) will have to be involved. Your own instructor
will tell you precisely what route he intends to take you on.
Whatever route you take, wherever you go (Leeds,
Leicester, Derby, Nottingham), it is going to take about 7 hours
(with breaks) and 180+ miles driving.
A high standard of driving is expected during the
drive. Assuming that you achieve or exceed that, we then send
off a completed Pass Plus training form to the
D.S.A. in Nottingham. They will return a Pass Plus Certificate
of Completion to you which proves to the Insurance Companies that
you have qualified and are entitled to a reduction on your car
insurance premiums.
"How much will it cost? How much will
I save?"
The fee for the course paying for professional instruction,
fuel, car depreciation etc., is equivalent to the rate of seven
hours of standard hourly driving lessons. Please ask. You should
easily recover this money by the savings you make on your reduced
car insurance premiums. We cannot guarantee how much you will
save as it depends upon your age, your car type, engine size etc.
Please check with your insurance company first.
We have known some pupils who say that they have
saved nearly £500 on their car insurance premium - just
by passing the Pass Plus drive.
"Why Else Should I Do Pass Plus?"
Apart from the obvious financial benefit, there are two other
major concerns that Pass Plus addresses:
Safety: Drivers between
17 and 21 years old make up 10% of all licence holders, but are
involved in 20% of all injury accidents. A young male driver
is 7 times more likely to be involved in an accident than a middle
aged man.
Confidence: Gaining experience
driving in different towns and cities and on Motorways and Dual
Carriageways at an early stage has got to be a good thing!
Pass Plus is designed to accelerate
the process of gaining experience at the time that new young drivers
are at their most vulnerable.
